Dogs

Slumdog came.Slumdog conquered.Slumdog Millionared!!.
Ok.So it was one of the things ,that the ppl and the country became proud of.
The movie was gud,sum related to the reality,sum liked,sum dint,but in the end it made it to the highest honour,that each movie luks forward to.

Along with it came fame,money,happiness for the cast and crew and ofcourse the real slumdogs!.
Amidst all the articles that went by about the two li’l kids which was one of the rags-to-riches dream run for these kids and the parents,the real story behind them was neva known.Neither did I kno,until,I came across this article in Reader's Digest.And hell!!,it just gets me to one thing:-It happens only in India.

Now that mite be a broad statement to make but then it’s the only country that I have ever lived in,so guess,it’s the only thing that I could say.

Ok.So the entire whining is about the kids not being taken care of by the producers..I mean,why shud dey??Why do they be under any obligations to take care of them??They paid them for their acting,that’s it.Still,the producers say: as a moral obligation we set-up a trust,and a monthly pension kinda thingie which they can avail of, provided, they finish their education.
Now that’s something that the kids’ parents didn’t want.They wanted the money NOW!!.
The best part.All this was all done and taken care of even before the film got released and least of winning the oscasrs.And there were no complaints then.The kids were put up in English medium schools and the clause of the trust were very particular about them having to complete their education.

The films success and then the Oscars screwed it up.The parents Demanded money,the kids took up ad and film assignments,not goin to school etc and then they blame the producers not taking care of them.The government is not taking care.Again,this report just came in the papers about flats being allotted by the Maha government,but there was no plans anyways!!

Again,the slum demolition added public sympathies.And the producers did ultimately give out houses to the kids.But the girl star’s dad refused saying they wanted in posh locations etc etc.The worst thing to have happened was how a reporter disguised as a Sheikh managed to BUY the girl kid from the dad.And the dad did agree on the cost of $35,000 for an Oscar kid!!.Unbelievable.!!

All said and done,an act of kindness,which was uncalled for,unneeded has cost the filmmakers a lot.But still,they have stuck up to a point sayin,"we'd do what it takes to help these kids out because “we don’t want them to feel that working with Slumdog Millionaire movie was a mistake.They should be glad that they worked with us”"

Some ppl never learn!!.Guess,its when you take a route that your heart tells you,it proves to be the costliest.You should do whats logical and ofcourse,if you really want to.Not because you THINK it might be good and its something that HAS to be done.!!
